Family Riding and Kid's
Activities
On of the best features of the Rally is the
involvement of kids and families. The Rally exposes kids of all ages to how fun
riding can be. The kids will grow up knowing that bike riding can be a great
form of recreation and exercise and hopefully encourage them to adopt bicycling
as a form of transportation as they become adults.
Our
family rates make it affordable for a family to attend and spend some quality
time together. Below are is a list of family activities and
competitions.
- Bicycle Roadeo (skills and safety)
- Family Ride to Star Farms
- Training Wheel Freedom Clinic
- Kids
Non-bicycling Games
- Huffy
Toss (older kids)
- Hill
Climb and Time Trial (older kids)

Volunteers of the Month: Julene
Limoges
 |
The Rally is supported and organized by loyal
volunteers. Julene and has been a consistent volunteer that has helped a very
important job at the Rally: the sales of merchandise.
Julene is retired and resides in the Los Angeles
area. She is not a bicyclist herself, but really enjoys working the event each
year. She also helps to set up and clean up each year and we call on her each
year to a variety of "extra duties" at the last minute.
Julene,we thank you so much for all your terrific help.
Stop by the merchandise booth and meet Julene this
year! |

Featured Sponsor: Cycle
California
Cycle California has
graciously sponsored the Rally for many years by distributing our brochures
throughout Northern California and at major bicycling events. Cycle California
Magazine is owned and published by Bob Mac who gives bicycle event directors
the opportunity to promote their events via display ads and calendar listings
each month in the magazine and web site. Cycle California is distributed in
bike shops and at many cycling events. You will see Bob himself in his booth at
major cycling events with bicycle event brochures to pass out to particpants.
For many years, he has steadfastly promoted bicycling via the magazine, web
site and at events. Thanks Bob for being such a great ambassador of and
promoter of bicycling in California!

Bring Your Mountain
Bike!
|
Calling All Mountain Bikers! In the
past, we have had mountain biking routes that were available to ride on your
own. This year, we are working with K-Man
Cyclery (a local Paso Robles Bike Shop and GWBR Sponsor) to lead
mountain bike rides. The mountain biking around Paso is incredible! As we get
closer to the Rally, we will post in our schedule when and where to meet.
