Volunteers of the Month: Chris Hawley & Alan Kizuka

Ralph Boethling

The Rally is supported and organized by loyal volunteers and Alan and Chris have been the most steadfast volunteers known to mankind. For over 35 years these two have been attending and volunteering at the GWBR. Incredible!

Alan and Chris organize and run the Time Trial each year on Saturday. In addition, they both assist with the "Best of Bike Show" on Saturday night by helping with set-up and registration of the contestant bikes. Alan comes on Thursday to help set up and stays to the end to help clean-up. Chris tallies the Time Trial results with his customized computer program and announces the results on Sunday night. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts and really do appreciate their invaluable help each year.

Featured Sponsor: Shimano

ShimanoShimano has graciously sponsored the Rally for the past 30 years by providing mechanical help on the Great Western Bicycle Rally grounds and also on the supported 100 mile and 100k rides. Their generous support has supplied our participants with the mechanical help they need so they may continue to enjoy their riding and the event. Thank you Shimano!
